ADRIAN, Mich.- FWF team member, Spencer Ford, was highlighted for his accomplishments both on and off the baseball field. Bulldog Athletics announced Friday, August 27th, that Spencer Ford received the 2020-21 Frank and Shirley Dick Senior-Scholar Athlete award, voted on by the Adrian College Faculty Athletic Representatives.
The Frank and Shirley Dick Senior-Scholar Athlete award represents an Adrian College athlete for sports achievements, academic performance, along with involvement in community outreach.
Bulldog Athletics highlighted Ford’s great success during his time playing at Adrian.
“Spencer Ford of the Adrian College baseball team graduated with a 3.74 GPA. Ford was a relief pitcher for the Bulldogs who helped the team win four MIAA Conference Championships, a Regional Championship, and a College World Series appearance. Ford holds the school record for most career appearances in Adrian baseball history.
“This is a tremendous honor for Spencer and a great way to end an outstanding career at Adrian,” head coach Craig Rainey said. “Spencer had a high level of success both in the classroom and on the field. He demonstrates what you can achieve at Adrian through hard work and determination both academically and athletically.”
On-campus, he volunteers to help facilitate strength and conditioning for two years. He was also a member of the Trick or Treat Patrol all four years on campus. Ford also participated in the annual soccer game with Special Olympics all four years at Adrian College. His 3.74 GPA put him on the Dean’s List every semester at Adrian.”
After graduating in May from Adrian with a degree in Exercise Science and Business Management, Ford began his career here at FWF as a Logistics Consultant.
