PLOVER, Wis. — The Women in Trucking Association (WIT) announced its fourth annual “Top Companies for Women to Work for in Transportation” list on Monday. Fifth Wheel Freight (FWF) was honored for a third straight year for its efforts to incorporate gender diversity in the transportation industry.
“Incorporating diverse perspectives and providing opportunity in West Michigan are central components of our mission as an organization. We are dedicated to the growth of our team by building the foundation for career and personal success”
Reese Van Heck, CEO of FWF
Women in Trucking’s annual award is given to companies in the transportation industry that exhibit key characteristics, including corporate cultures that foster gender diversity, competitive compensation and benefits, flexible hours and work requirements, professional development and career advancement opportunities.
Companies are awarded in a two-step process. First, nominations are received and reviewed to ensure they qualify by meeting a certain number of requirements. Second, voting takes place by individuals in the industry. This year, 14,000 votes were cast to name companies on this list.
The list is composed of a diverse set of business sectors in commercial freight such as motor carriers, third-party logistics companies, and original equipment manufacturers.
