-Robert Dodge, Director of Carrier Relations at FWF

How did you get to where you are today?

I graduated from Davenport University in 2018 with my bachelor’s degree in business management with a dual degree in sports management. In 2020, I graduated with a master’s degree of Business Administration. During my first interview with FWF, I was drawn in by the atmosphere and energy. I was very impressed with the young leaders and the growth opportunities the company provided with hard work and dedication.

What brought you to FWF?

The people. I interviewed with FWF two different times and each time I was in the office for an interview it seemed like a huge family. The leadership team truly cares for each individual’s success.

Three words to best describe FWF:

  • Inclusive
  • Rewarding
  • Motivating

What FWF company value is most important to you and why?

Leadership.

Our management team makes FWF a career, not just a job. The leadership team truly cares for each employee’s success inside and outside of the office.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part about my job is chasing loads and finding good carriers. I also enjoy working in the carrier corner, never a dull moment.

What is your motto or personal mantra?

“The only person who can stop you from reaching your goals is you.”

-Jackie Joyner-Kersee

What advice would you give to someone interested in beginning their career in logistics and transportation?

Never get discouraged with receiving “no’s”, keep pushing forward and lean on your co-workers and teammates. Soak up as much information as possible. Logistics is an ever-changing field and I continue to learn about the ebbs and flows of the logistics and transportation industry every day.
